Machester United Survive Manchester city, Owen's 96th minute clincher

The much talked about Manchester derby certainly lived up to expectation with a seven goal thriller that beheld that homers put all three points in the kitty. Manchester united opened scoring early in the second minute when evra ran into their 18 yard box of the unaware city defender, dished a pass to incoming Rooney who shrugged off two city defenders to tuck the ball underneath the keeper and into the net. Gareth Barry equalized for Manchester city in the 17th minute when ball played in towards Manchester keeper, Ben foster, fumbled the ball to Carlos tevez who battled off the ball from the keeper to give the pass that provided the goal.

Darren Fletcher restored the lead for Manchester united in the 48th minute through a Ryan giggs cross. The lead was short lived when Craig Bellamy leveled for Manchester city through a rocket of a shot 4 minutes later. United commenced a flurry of attacks that saw city keeper, Shea given, produce fine saves from two direct berbatov's header and a shot from Ryan giggs.

Fletcher and Ryan giggs once again replicates there combination that resulted into a third goal for united in the 80th minute. It momentarily seemed to end that way for united when an error by Rio Ferdinand who made a wrong nervy pass that got intercepted by Craig Bellamy who ran a one way traffic with the ball to shock and silence old trafford with goal in the 90th minute.

A point apiece was to bagged by both team, but a late frenzy attack by Manchester united witnessed Ryan giggs who sited and passed the ball to Michael Owen who was wide open to put the ball to the right of the goal to make it four for united and secure victory against hard fighting city who were without Robinho and Emmanuel Adebayor.
